This guy is Nir Eyal and he wrote the book I read this month, Hooked.
This book, recommended by Melvin who thought I’d enjoy the reading, explores a model for making products that are addictive, a few real-world examples of products that have done so, and a bit of thought on the morals around making addictive things.
I have to say that this book was steady in its pacing which I appreciated; it was neither fast nor slow as a read.
After I finished it, I immediately wanted to know if and how I could apply it where I work and I’m looking forward to the journey that brings me. I actually have some small ideas for how to apply what I’ve seen here (although the larger part will take work and may not be fully applicable to our product).
